VAZ founder Alexander Olschanski worked as a sales representative for several years across Germany and quickly recognized the challenges faced by business travelers: unfamiliar surroundings, accommodation in uncomfortable apartments and the vague feeling of being a stranger. Most of the accommodation was spartan and literally inhospitable. He was convinced that he had to offer guests something better and developed the vision of livable temporary accommodation in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region.
